Frustrated With Your Surfboards?
Having the wrong volume can mean the difference between a great surf and an average one. We’ve put together a calculator to guide you to the sweet spot in surfboard volume for your surfing profile. The following factors all have an influence on your ideal board volume and contribut in varying degrees to the Surfboard Volume Calculator.
Weight
The number 1 factor in determining your ideal surfboard volume is the weight you're carrying. Heavier surfers simply need more volume to achieve the same flotation as a lighter surfer.
Age
After 30 for most of us our fitness and maneuverability starts to slowly decline which effects our performance and need for a more forgiving board.
Surf Type
Smaller mushy waves tend to offer little support in your quest for speed and need an increase in volume to compensate.
Skill Level
The more of a beginner you are, the more volume you’re going to want.
Fitness
Fitness is also important. An unfit surfer is going to have a harder time paddling and riding a board with less volume.
